about

My name is Amelia Andersson-Nickson and I love to sing. My 14 years on this planet have been filled with music. I have been singing and composing music for as long as I can remember. My first instrument was a tiny Casio keyboard that I bought for $3 at a school fete when I was four.

This song is a reflection of a time in my life that was incredibly painful for me, my parents’ divorce. I felt like I was being ripped apart when I was asked to make a huge decision about how I wanted to live my life, and with who, when I was only 5 years old. I still hold emotional scars from the experience and really needed to take some time to unpack all of the hurt so I could take a good look at it from a more informed, mature position. I believe we all need to reflect on where we have been and our actions so that we can forgive ourselves and others and move forward.
